Clear Base Fix has been designed for the smart repair market enabling the operator to not only keep the repair small but to also reduce the flatting mark hallow on silverblue type colours.
These type of hallow lines only appear in the clearcoat stage which is to late and the repair needs to be done again. By applying Clear Base Fix to the flatted area after the primer has been flattened the chance of line hallows are reduced, so as when the metallic basecoat is applied it sits on the clear base fix and not the flatted area.
So what do we mean by flatting line hallows:
This is the term used when the overspray dust settles in the fine flatting lines, even though they tack cloth out it is only when the clearcoat is applied that they turn darker and show up the flatting lines.
